Christian rock for kids
Are you looking for some light in the dark world of popular music? You need The Force, a new Christian Pop-Rock CD by the band PTB.

In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus tells us to be salt and light to the world. All the songs on this CD are meant to inspire and challenge youth, especially preteens—those on the cusp of making their personal decision for Christ—to make godly decisions in real life situations.

The lyrics tackle struggles with drugs and alcohol, girls/boys, school violence, insecurities about your body, feeling unloved or not listened to, and the existence of God. The words point the listener toward God first, then toward spiritual heroes such as Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. With a spirit of fun, the songs instill the courage to stand up for your convictions.

The music offers something for almost everyone—from the hip-hop inspired rapping of Carl Alleyne on “The Force” to the pop-rock vocals of Julie Kinscheck on “S.P.Y. Kidz” or “Preteen Alliance” to the heavy rocker vocals of Rich Evans on “Mission Possible” (complete with screamin’ guitar solo by Jim Peterson). You can find some SCAT singing in “Can You Hear Me Now” and a beautiful instrumental soundtrack-esque piece, featuring Ralph Kinscheck on keyboards, complete with insightful voice over in “Incredible”! You also hear the influences of Ralph’s progressive rock past, adding sophistication to many of the pieces.

Other featured artists on these recordings include Sal Difusco on lead guitar, Pat Loomis on saxophone and a large cast of teen and preteen singers!!!

Though focused primarily for preteens, the music on The Force can be enjoyed by listeners of all ages, eight of the nine songs on the CD were based on the themes for individual preteen camps between 1997 and 2005. The one exception is “Hope For the Children” which was written originally for Hope Worldwide and then reworked for the youth audience.

Several of the songs included were also theme songs for mini movies produced for the camps: “Mission Possible”, “S.P.Y. kidz (Spiritual, Powerful, Youth),” and “Battle For Your Soul (Is It In You).” The last one was the theme song from “The X-Project.”

The Force CD was a nine-year labor of love for Ralph and Julie Kinscheck who hope to take this music to youth rallies, churches and Christian radio to inspire youth everywhere!
